Song Dissection: 22 Part 3

This is the final installment of our interpretation of Taylor Swift's hit song, 22.

It feels like one of those nights
We ditch the whole scene
This is a repetition of previous lyrics. She is feeling that this is the time to ditch the mindset that change is not possible.

It feels like one of those nights
We won't be sleeping
Again, a repeat of previous lyrics. She confidently says that they won't be sleeping. This meant not only during this time, but forever. They will never sleep again (metaphorically) because they are now awake to the life around them.

It feels like one of those nights
You look like bad news I gotta have you, I gotta have you
This part is quite a juxtaposition. She says that you look like bad news, yet she's gotta have you. The you again could refer to a higher power/God. She has seen the effect that God has had on other people, and she sees is as bad news. This does not necessarily mean that it has a wholly negative effect. The only bad news is that the journey to self actualization will be hard once she begins, yet she has to. She repeats "I gotta have you" twice, making the point that she has to have this journey.
